“Pearl Island” Phu Quoc is a large tropical island off the coast of Vietnam. It is the biggest one in the 22-island complex of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand, Kien Giang province. Its northeast cape is 4 sea miles from the neighbour Cambodia. The island is 62 sea miles east of Kien Giang capital (Rach Gia town), and 25 sea miles from Ha Tien town. Phu Quoc together with other 22 islands makes up an island district of 56,500 hectares in total area, which approximates that of Singapore island nation. Wheareas Phu Quoc itself has a total area of as much as 574 sq. km, in a triangular shape. Some author has compared the island to a swimming fish with its head turning to the North. Phu Quoc is ringed with some of most beautiful beaches and best seafood in Vietnam, promising quite a few absorptive elements for tourists.

Today we enjoy a full day city tour of this charming capital city including the mausoleum of the nation's founder Ho Chi Minh (close on Monday & Friday), the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the impressive Ethnologic Museum, the beautiful West Lake, the Tran Vu Pagoda, the peaceful lake of the Restored Sword.
Late afternoon we take a cyclo tour for a short excursion through the bustling old quarter streets named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. In the evening, we enjoy a fantastic traditional Water Puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Morning drive to Halong Bay (165km), Vietnam most scenic sight, a recognized World Natural Heritage Site. Upon arrival, board your deluxe traditional wooden junk. Welcome drink on board. After a relaxing break, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch while cruising through the wonderful Ha Long bay visiting its amazing grottoes and caves. Opportunity to dive off the boat and have a pleasant swimming in the deep blue water of East Sea before relaxing on your sun deck to view a Halong sunset. Dinner on board with excellent fresh seafood.

Day 5: Cat Ba – Hanoi – Hue

Day 8: Hoi An – Cooking Class

We start the day (8.15am) with a welcome drink at Hai Café
(98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An Ancient Town, Tel: 863210) – our meeting point.
Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy
On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and eat what we have cooked.
Bring your swimsuit and after the cooking tour has finished relax and enjoy free use of our new 20 metre swimming pool.

Nha Trang city, small city on the south central coastline of Vietnam, today you can visit on own to historical relics from Cham civilization represented as Po Nagar tower, a sacred Hindu site dating back to the 7th century, Stone Church built in French colony time, to Long Son Pagoda - Buddhist pagoda built in commemoration of the monks and nuns who died whilst fighting the Diem Government. Today you will visit some of the most interesting sights of Dalat. You will visit the former "palace" of the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, Bao Dai. You will also visit the very colorful local market, stacked with fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers, grown in planations around Dalat. Thanks to its temperate climate the mountains around Dalat are ideal for growing vegetables and flowers. One of the main attractions for local tourists is the "Valley of Love", worth a visit just for the peculiar sight of Vietnamese cowboys.
Finally, you will make short ride on the last part of the "cremailliere" railway to the village Trai Mat. Overnight in DaLat.

This morning, we drive to the famous Mekong Delta, a major rice producing area of Vietnam. From the town Cai Be you will make a refreshing boat trip to visit the interesting floating markets where Boats in several sizes and shapes pass here with local products and the inhabitants are extraordinary friendly and hospitable. Continue boat trip to An Binh island to experience the waterways, fruit plantations and rice fields of the Mekong. After lunch you will travel to Cantho, the largest city of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 18: Can Tho – Rach Gia

It is still little visited. Phu Quoc Island is famous for the quality of locally produced pepper and matelote. Today is free. You can now relax on the beach or visit Duong Dong, the capital of Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc is a national park and it is also possible to explore the island on own. Overnight in Phu Quoc.

Day 21: Phu Quoc – Ho Chi Minh Departure
