In the old days, every year on 8th, Lunar February (the birthday of Princess Le Chan), the people of Ven village (also known as An Bien's village) opened the Narcissus Competition festival at the temple yard. Narcissus was a kind of purely scented ivory-white flower. The most beautiful pots of Narcissus if in 'timely blossom' it was given the first prize called 'Nguyen Prize' (whole prize)
The prize included a couplet, one kilo of original Thai's tea, a Chinese fan and three thousand pieces of tiny firecrackers. The pots were then ceremonially put on the four-step tables covered by pink clothes and edging embroidered with gold thread. The front table was decorated with flowers, five-coloured lights and processed to her altar for worshipping during the three days of festival.
Nowadays, although the festival no longer exists, Hai Phong's people have a new customs of going to the Nghe's temple to welcome the new year and offer incense to the Feminine general in New Year' Eve. Relics Professional Department (of City Museum) comprehensively manages Nghe's temple, sends their professional staff to work as Temple Gradient and guide the local and foreign tourists. Every first and fifteenth of a lunar month, the sanctuary of the temple is open for people to offer incense and worship.
