Opening time: The Oceanographic Institute was founded in 1923, situated on a large hilly area on the coast of Nha Trang City alongside Cau Da Port, 6 km from Nha Trang to the South.
Laboratories, libraries, warehouses... are designed into a spacious multi-storey architecture, gracefully situated on the slope of a hill by the sea. The Marine Creature Museum in the Institute displays some 80,000 specimens  of aquatic creatures, especially a giant whalebone of 26 m in length and 3 m in height. Visitors can also admire thousands of living marine species in a newly-built underground aquarium in the premises.
